SERVICES: Geothermal Systems

Easterday Equipment

The new stimulus plan has just increased the tax credit for geothermal systems to 30%. This means 30% off the unit itself, plus the electric installation costs and the well system. This makes the credit a substantial help to those of us thinking seriously about putting such a system in. Read more here.

GeoThermal Loops For Ground Water Heat Pumps

Why use Ground Water for a Heat Pump System?
Ground water has been called "nature's most efficient energy storage system". Ground water' s temperature varies little with seasonal weather changes: it's warmer than the air in the winter. and cooler than the air in the summer. Therefore, the heat pump output is also
relatively constant year round.

Easterday Well & Pump has been involved in the research and development of Ground Water Heat Pumps since 1955. We are nationally certified in various categories relating to the ground water industry. When
ground water became feasible and economical for heating & cooling. EW&P dedicated their efforts to
educating the public about the ground water heat pump systems.

  • Uses solar energy
  • Low maintenance
  • Low operational cost
  • Automatic
  • Reliable
  • Twice the life of conventional system (national Average)

Operations

Heating
During the heating cycle, a geothermal system uses
the earth loop to extract heat from the ground. As
the system pulls heat from the loop it distributes it
through a conventional duct system as warm air.
The same heat energy can also be used for a radiant
floor system or domestic hot water heating.

Cooling
In the cooling mode, a geothermal system air
conditions your home by reversing the heating
process. Instead of extracting heat from the ground, it
is extracted from your home and either moved back in
the earth loop, or used to preheat the water in your hot
water tank. Once the heat is removed from the air, it
is distributed through the duct system in your home.
